Director Doug Meyer – Crystal Lake Police Department

Doug Meyer began his police career in 2013 where he was a police officer for the Village of Oak Park.  Doug lateraled to the Crystal Lake Police Department in 2021 where he is currently a Detective within the Criminal Investigations Unit.  Doug is in charge of the Peer Jury program for Crystal Lake and continues to protect and serve juveniles in Crystal Lake. 

Past President Courtney Behrens – Options and Advocacy for McHenry County

Courtney Behrens, LCSW is a licensed Clinical Social Worker with the Autism Resource Center of Options and Advocacy for McHenry County. She brings with her years of experience with various populations and multiple aspects of nonprofits. Courtney obtained her Master’s degree from Aurora University in 2016. She then went on to engage in crisis and clinical therapy in cook county with a local CCBYS agency. She joined Options and Advocacy over a year and half ago as a service coordinator for individuals and families impacted by Autism. Courtney brings with her a multifaceted experience from macro level development such as grant writing and program development to individual clinical therapy. Her professional work has been largely focused on vulnerable populations, youth, domestic violence victims, and individuals with disabilities. Courtney has also done extensive training and work around gender identity, healthy development and the LGBTQ+ population.

Treasurer Mike Quick – McHenry County Sheriff’s Department

Mike Quick is currently serving as the Treasurer, Past President and a Lifetime Member of the McHenry County Juvenile Officer’s Association. He is also currently serving as the Executive Director and Past President of the Illinois Juvenile Officers Association.  Mike has been employed with the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office since 2007.  For the last thirteen years, he has been assigned as a Detective within the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division. Mike continues to work closely with local Law Enforcement, Child Advocacy Center, State’s Attorney’s Office, Probation and Court Services, Department of Child and Family Services, Social services, Professional services and Medical services and to serve and protect the youth within McHenry County and the State of Illinois.

President Anna Krause – Child Advocacy Center of McHenry County

Anna Krause is a Licensed Social Worker and 13 year employee of the Child Advocacy Center of McHenry County.   Anna brings years of experience working with child victims, the protection of victim’s rights and child development to the MCJOA.  Anna obtained a Master’s Degree from Aurora University in 2020.  She has dedicated her career to being an advocate and voice for child victims by conducting thousands of forensic interviews.  Currently Anna serves as the CACMC Operations Manager and lead Forensic Interviewer.  She has been a member of the MCJOA Board since 2022.

Executive Director Misty Marinier- Child Advocacy Center of McHenry County

Misty Marinier currently serves as the Executive Director of the McHenry County Juvenile Officers Association. Misty also serves as a board member for the Illinois Juvenile Officers Association. Misty has been employed with the Child Advocacy Center of McHenry County since 2016. Prior to the CAC, she was employed as a Police Officer for the Village of Algonquin.

Director Chad Riffe -Lake in the Hills Police Department

Chad Riffe has been a police officer in The Village of Lake in the Hills for 20 years, where he currently is the acting Sergeant of Support Services. Chad has been a Juvenile Officer since 2007. Chad has a Bachelor Degree in Administration of Justice from Southern Illinois University. Chad is the Lake in the Hills Police Department lead representative to the Tri-Area Court for Teens and lead mentor to the Lake in the Hills Police Cadet Program.

Director Brette Dunbar – McHenry County State’s Attorneys Office

Brette Dunbar has been an Assistant State’s Attorney in McHenry County for 10 years. She is currently the supervising attorney of the juvenile unit, which includes all juvenile delinquency proceedings, as well as abuse and neglect proceedings. Additionally, she is assigned as the prosecutor on abuse and neglect matters. She regularly prepares emergency shelter care hearings when protective custody has been taken of a minor by DCFS. She has also acted as first chair in evidentiary proceedings relating to petitions for adjudication of wardship and petitions to terminate parental rights. Prior to her time in the juvenile unit, she was the first chair of a felony courtroom and she also handled felony drug cases, taking several drug-induced homicide matters to trial.

Vice President Sarah Barham – Lake in the Hills Police Department

Sarah Barham has been a police officer in McHenry County for nine years. Sarah is currently employed as a police officer for the Village of Lake in the Hills. Sarah has served as her agency’s first school resource officer since August of 2019. She represented her department in the Tri-Area Court for Teens. Sarah has a Bachelor Degree in Law Enforcement and Justice Administration with a double major in Spanish from Western Illinois University. In addition to being a Police Officer, Sarah is completing her Master’s Degree in Social Work. Sarah has been a member of the McHenry County Juvenile Officer’s Association for 3 years.

  Secretary Lisa Tietz – Crystal Lake Police Department

Lisa Tietz began her police career in 2004. Lisa has been employed with the Crystal Lake Police Department since 2008. In 2021, Lisa was assigned and is currently a Detective within the Criminal Investigations Divisions. Lisa became a Juvenile Officer in 2006.  Lisa continues to protect and serve juveniles in Crystal Lake and within McHenry County.

Tim Dempsey – McHenry County Regional Office of Education

Tim Dempsey has been employed by the McHenry County Regional Office of Education since 2015. Tim started off his career at the ROE as a part time Youth Outreach Worker. In 2019, Tim transitioned into full time where he was sworn in as a Truancy Officer. Since taking over as the Truancy Officer in McHenry County. Tim has made it my personal goal to help and assist all the students in the county. Tim also currently serves as the Homeless liaison for the Regional Office of Education, in this role he help school district in Identifying homelessness in McHenry County. Tim is excited and thankful for the opportunity to be a part of the MCJOA and look forward to what we can achieve.
